  • What is the phone number for...?
    Sorry, but I don't have phone numbers for rest areas or welcome centers. Try searching the state's department of transportation web site for contact information.
  • I've lost [whatever] at a rest area. Has anyone found it and turned it in?
    I cannot help you with finding lost items. Try searching the state's department of transportation web site for contact information.
  • Can I park overnight?
    Rest area usage rules vary by state. Some states allow overnight parking. Most impose a time limit and do not permit camping or overnight parking. Refer to my book for rest area usage rules.
  • Are there family restrooms?
    Many states have and are beginning to construct dedicated restrooms for those that may need assistance from family members. Family restroom information is not posted here but is included in my book.
  • Is Wireless Internet available?
    Wireless Internet access in rest areas is increasingly popular. Iowa and Texas are two states that offer it in their rest areas. Wi-Fi information is not posted on this site but is included in my book.
  • I'm meeting someone half-way. Can you tell me what rest area is the best location to meet?
    Rest areas are not always a good place to meet, especially when people are coming from opposite directions. Try finding a truck stop, gas station, or restaurant at an exit off the interstate.
